Slamovision is an annual international slam poetry competition organised by UNESCO Cities of Literature. The format and the name of the event were inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, but here poets and their original works compete. It is a celebration that unites word art, performance and international fellowship.

Each participating UNESCO City of Literature selects a poet to represent their city. Participants create video recordings of up to three minutes in length, performing their original work. These recordings are broadcast during a virtual event that can be watched by audiences worldwide.

The primary aim of the competition is not fierce rivalry, but rather the promotion of creativity, cultural exchange and community. It is a platform that gives poets from different countries the opportunity to share their voices and ideas with an international audience.

Vilnius has been participating in this competition since 2022.
